My Story, Values & Clinical Foundation

Amber Noone (she/her), LMHC, LCPC, NCC, CCMHC

Owner & Founder of Guided Growth Mental Wellness, PLLC

I know what it’s like to grow up in a home where emotional and physical needs were not met. In fact, it was those early experiences have forged my path to becoming a therapist and have shaped my deep commitment to providing trauma-informed, supportive and compassionate therapy for individuals who are healing from childhood adversity and complex family of origin dynamics. I understand how these early experiences contribute to longstanding patterns of self-doubt, self-criticism, emotional dysregulation and difficulty establishing and maintaining healthy relationships. These patterns often ripple into every area of life—friendships, romantic relationships, self-esteem, parenting, careers, and how we manage stress and navigate conflict. This can all seem very overwhelming and unmanageable, but with the right support, meaningful and lasting change is possible. I want to help you find that for yourself.

I bring over 15 years of diverse experience providing therapeutic support for teens, emerging adults and adults. Early in my career, I worked in adolescent outpatient therapy and in school and community-based mental health, supporting youth, parents and families navigating ADHD challenges, academic and peer relationship challenges, family conflict, anxiety, depression, trauma, developmental concerns, and limited access to resources.

My career experience then expanded into work with military members and their families—both overseas and stateside—supporting individuals and families through deployment-related stress, frequent relocations, relationship conflict, grief and loss, intimate partner violence, and many other stressors unique to military life. These experiences enabled me to develop skills that offer culturally responsive and highly attuned support for clients facing high-pressure environments and major life transitions.

Most recently, before embarking on this private practice journey, I found myself back in schools, where I supported teens as they navigated anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, social pressures, family conflict, academic challenges, identity development and exploration, communication difficulties, and many of the other intense challenges often associated with adolescence. Through this work, I have supported teens around building confidence, strengthening emotional regulation skills, learning assertiveness skills and how to advocate for their needs.

Across every chapter of my career, I have observed that one truth has remained constant: healing and growth happen in safe, supportive, non-judgmental and intentional spaces. My goal at Guided Growth Mental Wellness is to create a therapeutic environment where you feel seen, heard, valued, and understood. My work is grounded in a trauma-informed, relational approach that supports meaningful insight and action-oriented change. Whether you’re looking to heal from past painful experiences, cope with current stressors and challenges, navigate major life transitions—or a combination of any of these things—I’m here to support you so you can shed self-limiting beliefs, release old patterns that no longer serve you, and begin living the balanced and fulfilling life you deserve.

What’s Behind the Name “Guided Growth Mental Wellness”?

I chose the name Guided Growth Mental Wellness for my practice because it reflects the core of my therapeutic approach and the fundamental way I view my role as a therapist. “Guided” represents my supportive, collaborative approach—walking alongside clients as they navigate adversity and heal from old wounds, clarify values, and gain insight, while holding space for the complex and heavy emotions that naturally arise throughout this process. This reflects my commitment to creating a safe and compassionate environment where clients can explore and make sense of difficult experiences without judgment.

“Growth” speaks to the ongoing journey of healing, self-discovery, resilience, and developing skills that help clients create the lives they want for themselves. It captures the work clients often come to therapy for: learning to understand themselves, making sense of painful experiences, strengthening boundaries, improving relationships with self and others, and cultivating emotional regulation skills. Growth isn’t a single moment—it’s an ongoing and evolving process that therapy can help nurture through intentional support and personalized, evidence-based strategies.

Together, the name conveys my hopes and visions for the clients I serve through Guided Growth Mental Wellness—that is, to create a therapeutic space where clients feel supported, empowered, and equipped to create meaningful and lasting change while healing from the adversities of life. It further reflects my belief that with the right guidance and support, every person can develop a stronger sense of self, break old patterns, and create a life that feels aligned, grounded, and fulfilling in a way that is personally meaningful to them.
